11 May Celebrating David Attenborough’s 100th Birthday
On 8th May we celebrating David Attenborough’s 100th birthday by exploring and appreciating the natural world. In Paddington Class, children have looked at the world with wonder, sharing what they find special about nature while learning how to care for it through activities such as creating their own nature documentaries, bark rubbings, camouflage games and cloud spotting. In Gruffalo Class, children made birthday cards and explored the school grounds to look for bugs. In Wild Things Class, pupils combined Science, ICT and Literacy through a “Voice for Nature” narration project, researching plants and animals and presenting their findings in an Attenborough-inspired style. In Elmer Class, children learned about his life and work, watched clips from his documentaries and went on wildlife hunts around the school to find mini beasts. BFG Class also took part by creating their own documentaries inspired by the natural world.
