Please contact the school office for details of the Minibus timetable and seat availability.
OUR SCHOOL MINIBUS
As a Federation, we own a Ford Transit 16 seater with adjustable height safety belts on each seat minibus.
The minibus is primarily for transporting children to school, who live in either Norton St Philip or Rode, where they are educated on the site not in their home village.
We are very willing to accommodate any children attending our schools regardless of where they live, if we have spare seats. It also reduces traffic, congestion and emissions. We try to run a strict schedule for the bus, but it can often run late due to traffic, road closures and other things.
We offer the minibus free of charge to all families, but welcome donations of any size to help us fund this wonderful service.
DRIVERS & CHAPERONES
All our drivers are employed by the school, hold a D1 license, a current DBS certificate and have passed the Somerset County Council minibus-driving test, which is renewed every 3 years. When we are transporting reception or Year 1 children, there is always a chaperone travelling on the bus to ensure seat-belts are correctly fastened, and that children are safe and happy.
RISK ASSESSMENTS
The route and ‘drop off ‘ / pick up’ points have been risk assessed. Please ask the school office for a copy if you would like to see this.
The minibus forms part of the Somerset County Council vehicle fleet and is safety checked at an approved commercial vehicle garage every 13 weeks, additionally the minibus is subject to a daily safety check. The minibus carries a first aid kit and the relevant transport signage.
We work in consultation with the Transport Action Groups in both villages.
