09 Feb Monday Morning Musicians!
The children at Rode had a musical start to the week with a visit from two German musicians, Anna and Tabitha, who work with Jackdaws Music Education Trust.
They showed the children their range of different sized recorders and we learnt the names for descant, treble, tenor, bass etc. We were impressed by the contrabass, which looked like they were playing a drainpipe! At one point Anna played two recorders at the same time.
The children joined in using body percussion rhythms and singing. This was followed by an expert workshop for our Toot Doods children who will be performing alongside the professionals and other school children at a concert in the Cheese and Grain on March 13th.
