03 Nov Harvest Festival at Rode and Norton St Philip
What wonderful Harvest Festivals we enjoyed at both sites this year! At Rode the children sang beautifully and enthusiastically, filling the hall with joy and autumn spirit. Their performance of “Food, Glorious Food!” was a firm favourite, with smiles and animated faces and actions!
After the performance, families were invited to share a delicious pumpkin and leek and potato soup, lovingly prepared by the children during class. Each bowl came with a homemade bread roll, perfect for dipping — and there were plenty of happy faces enjoying the results of the children’s hard work!
Over at Norton St Philip we were so lucky with the weather and could be outside for Harvest. The fire was lit and the children welcomed everyone by singing in French ‘ Bonjoir Les Amis’. They then performed their Autumn poems brilliantly. To end the celebration the children sang ‘The Big Blue Tractor’ before we all enjoyed the amazing array of fruit and vegetable cakes.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support the events, and to all those who donated cakes, cooking ingredients, bread, and butter. Your generosity is greatly appreciated, as are the kind contributions made to Fair Frome, helping to share the spirit of harvest with our wider community.
We’d also like to give a special thank you to FRANs for serving our delicious delights and tackling the washing up afterwards! It was a heart-warming celebration of food, friendship, and community.
