12 Jun Athletics Competition and Football Tournament
30 children from across BFG and Wild Things, have proudly represented the Federation in 2 different events in the last 2 weeks. The first event was the annual IG Sports football tournament on Thursday 6th June. 2 mixed teams did themselves proud against some really tough opposition. Rode & Norton Reds progressed through to the semi finals, but were beaten 1-0 by the eventual winners from Nunney First School.
The 2nd event, hosted by Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership, saw 2 teams of 8, compete in 4 athletics disciplines on Tuesday 11th June. Every child did a 50m sprint, 400m run, a howler throw and standing long jump. All results will be processed and overall winners will be announced in the Smiley assembly on Friday. If a Rode and Norton team have won, they will go to Millfield in July to represent the Mendip area in the Somerset School Games. Our fingers are firmly crossed!
